Getting ready

Packing

So I've started documenting the trip already. Hopefully I'll be able to keep it up.

Interesting things so far.

I bought jeans and they're tighter than my normal pants, so much so I had to empty my wallet.

I have two Photoshop books and one tiny novel which shows you where my priorities lie.

Konstantin said "Oh you should bring a sleeping bag" which required me to tear apart my basement finding both a sleeping bag and a bag I could fit it in.

I'm tempted to get the special deluxe King Kong that comes out tomorrow for the flight.

I finally bought a pair of boots because the idea of wearing converse in the winter in Europe with no definite warm place to dry them every night seemed like a dumb idea.

Getting ready for Germany

Today is my last day of work this month. Tonight and tomorrow I spend frantically getting things done thatI should have done last week and hop on a plane with David Bilmas and Konstantin to Frankfurt Germany.

I bought two lenses, one is the super cheap but really great 50mm I had before that broke because it's super cheap, the other is the EF 28-105. I'm pretty impressed with it so far.

I'm hoping to get internet access as frequently as possible so I post updates and interesting things as they happen, or at least upload the pictures so I dont have 300 to upload when I get back.

I stll don't speak a word of German. Maybe I'll buy a pocket dictionary today.

In my camera it was all red and I thought it would make a good monochrome. Then I tried whitebalancing and it looked even better.

Because i can,
because there's no one to stop me
'cause it makes up for things that i lost,
to feel your tug at my soul,
the sting of your gaze on my face. . .

My hands are dirty, but my conscience is clean.

I think this is one of the best songs I've ever heard.

It's so melancholy and so...perfect. If I could write anything it would be to write like this.

EDIT* he's from Pittsburgh. That's perfect.

And he covers Neutral Milk Hotel. That's also perfect.
